Don’t be a liability to Nigeria, POGIL Provost Charges Vocational and Entrepreneurship graduands

The Visitor and Provost of POGIL COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, Oke Eri, Ijebu Ode Dr Issac Adegoke (Ph.D) on Friday 7th of March 2017 charged the students of the college who graduated from sections of vocational and entrepreneurial studies and skill acquisition to shelve the habit of waiting on what the government will do for them.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony yesterday, the Provost said it is alarming the rate at which graduates roam about with their certificate, saying it is on such note that the school decided to organize the training alongside their normal academic pursuit saying it is an added advantage for them as students of the citadel. He commended the tutors and the Director of Vocational and Entrepreneurship training Mrs Anu Jide-Okunaya for a sound and remarkable landmark conveyed as such training and graduation will be first if its kind in the school as well as the first among private citadel of health colleges in Nigeria.
Speaking before the students were presented their certificates, the Director of Vocational and Entrepreneurship training Mrs Anu Jide-Okunaya said the cooperation of the Visitor made the program a success while appreciating the effort of the tutors for enduring and consistency. She noted that the displayed packages were the handwork of the students. 

Similarly, the students union government had a change in baton as Shamsudeen led Student Union Government hands over to the newly appointed executives to administer the school students activities for the 2017/18 academic year. The oath was administered to the newly inaugurated executive by the student affairs officer of the school in the presence of the provost, his deputies, the registrar and the special guest of honour Otunba Adekunle Osibeluwo who also used the opportunity to inspire the students of the school never to accept society to dictate their fortune citing how he became a graduate and school proprietor despite being physically challenged.


Culminating the SUG week, talent hunt, beauty pageant and drama. Prizes were presented by the CEO Dr Adegoke Isaac for outstanding students during the training including cash prizes by the CEO. Some of the outstanding students are: Olaonipeku Victoria (Tie and Dye), Awosipe Abosede (Substance Production), Adefisayo Temitayo( Decoration), Moronfolu Telma (Cosmetics), Onome (Bead making), Madubi (Barbing) and Agboola Kemi (Catering). Also prizes and award were presented by the student union government to principal officers of the school and HODs of the college. In a similar vein, the CEO Dr Issac ADEGOKE awarded a sum of 20,000 to SUG President for the surprise and achievements recorded during his tenure, he also presented cash prizes ranging from 50,000 naira to 20,000 naira to winners of various competition including Quiz and Spelling Bee

Speaking on behalf of the graduands, Miss Ayorinde Fisayo said the opportunity provided by the school without additional cost is really a boost towards self sustenance, reliance and independence. She noted that another certificate aside their primary pursuit has been added to their resume which is for economic sustenance outside school, thanking the CEO and the Director for the opportunity paved for them.
