POGIL Speaker says Alcohol kills 20years earlier; As CEO surprises students with prizes

The day 1 of the SUG week of POGIL COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State was described has a glamorous day as students joyfully throng out to create awareness for the commencement of the week via endurance treck circulating Ijebu Ode metropolis. The day 2 had the health awareness lecture, spelling bee and interdepartmental quiz completion. 

According to the key note speaker, Mr Edet Otto, who spoke on the theme ‘”Health is Wealth” says drinking of Alcohol kills 20 years earlier than the life expectancy age while cigarette kills 10years earlier. He advised guests and students to maintain good hygiene, exercise, sleeping regularly, maintaining good habit, keep healthy environment and many more saying deficiency of the above leads to loose of career, productivity, peace of mind and untimely death.

Similarly another lecturer of the school Mrs Olowokere took the students on the journey of ensuring a life of educational attainment and brilliance through the use of a SQ4Rs(Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review and Reflect. 
Afterwards each department were represented in a quiz competition, spelling bee and general knowledge where Medical Laboratory Technicians and Dispensary Optician Departments came first, Community Health, Health Education and Pharmacy Technician came second & Dental Health technicians and Environmental Health came third.

Mainwhile, the Visitor and CEO to the College Dr Isaac Adegoke motivated the students by presenting a cash prize to each departments that won and a participatory prize to those who lost. Similarly a philanthropist who was overwhelmed by the performance of the students (Mr Osibeluwo) also gave out cash prizes to the winners.
The activities of the week continues tomorrow at the college premises featuring cultural day where neighboring institutions TASUED and OOU will be participating.
