The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has expressed its willingness to grant necessary support in resuscitating agricultural farms in Ogun State.
Mr. Bade Odusote who led the inspection team of the CBN made this known while on inspection tour to Apoje farms, a subsidiary of Ogun State Agricultural Development Corporation (OGSADC) at Ijebu-Igbo.
Odusote expressed satisfaction over the level of improvement of the farm, adding that CBN was ready to render financial support in order to boost the farm production and ensure more food supply in the country.
He said a palm plantation at Apoje has a lot of capabilities and potentials which required the desired support so as to attain its set objective, promising that the Bank would give necessary support,
‘’We are ready to support the State government towards the provision of fund in developing agricultural products in Apoje farms’’. Odusote said.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Steve Ipiniwa said the collaboration of the State with the CBN would resuscitate the farm, adding that the approach of the government was to change things for better.
On his part the, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Mr. Semiu Alao, emphasised that the CBN intervention at resuscitating Apoje farms would make Ogun State agricultural hub of the country
