Ogun Election; Adekoya Campaign Train Storms Sopen and Beje’s Palace


As Ogun State Local Government and Local Development Area Councils elections draws nearer, the campaign train of Adebayo Adebola Adekoya paid a courtesy visit to the palace of Sopen Lukale of Sopen and that of his counterpart Beje Roku of Oke Agbo in Ijebu Igbo where the Local Government falls yesterday.


Speaking, the Sopen Lukale welcomed the campaign train to his palace. He described the candidate of the APC Adekoya Adebola Adebayo has the son of the soil whose antecedent speaks volume.

Also.at the palace of Beje Roku, the Kabiyesi Oba A bass said he expects nothing lesser than performance especially since the candidate has been in the political system for quite some time.


The Olorituns present while giving their address said the local government under the administration should ensure stipends on monthly basis should be given to compensate the efforts of the Street heads (Olorituns).


In his response, Adebola Adekoya said despite the delineation which was embarked upon by the state government to ensure speedy development in the local government, he will perform his best with the resources at his disposal.

He said if voted into office, he will come back to sit on a round table with the Obas to discuss what each district needs and how to achieve them. “Ur royal highnesses, the era of planning for the people is over, the people will plan for themselves”. I will embark on a quarterly meeting with the people in the town hall to brief us the work so far and what we still have to do,this is a joint government if voted in, he alluded.


He introduced the councillors to the Obas the the Chiefs for recognition and to know those who fall within their area of jurisdiction. The Obas advised the councillors ( Mrs Sile Imoru, Mr Badejo Banjo, Mr Adebanjo Adetunji, Mr Sosanya Sotayo and Mr Jayesimi Oluwaseun) to cooperate with the Chairmanship candidate when they eventually get voted in. They advised them to write their names in gold ” no position is too little to do well and good, don’t wait till the chairman embarks on project, do yours even in a little way, our people won’t forget”.


Royal blessings were showered in the Chairmanship candidate and the Councillors respectively. On the campaign train were former house of assembly members Hon Ayinde Sulaiman and Hon Sansa Ibrahim, High Chief Olaitan Asekun, Mr Alowosile Kayode, Hon Olatoye Kola, Hon Banjo Kunle, Aare Akinsehinde, Hon Mrs Ayoka Soyemi and other party faithfuls. At the palaces were Pa Mustapha, Otunba A.O Talabi, Alh Azeez, Pa Losogbo, Olorituns and many others.
