The Odogbolu state constituency representative in Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebowale Ojuri has empowered three of his constituents with vehicles.
This according to him is in continuation of his empowerment programmes as hundreds of his constituents had in the last 10 months of being in office benefited from series of empowerment programmes embarked on by him.
Speaking while presenting the keys to the beneficiaries, Ojuri said movement of people is very important phenomenon and what he has found out is that politically, it has been one of the few growth avenue for employment.
He noted that he is looking at different types of employment but when you are able to assist someone with the acquisition of a vehicle, what you have made that person is a fisherman and to make the job easier for him, there is need to give them a relationship within the organised transport union that is conducive, which he has done so that the transportation business can be profitable for beneficiaries.
“What I’ve noticed in the last few months is the desire to have their own vehicles which to me is one singular motivator so, this to me is self employment.
I intend to be giving out one vehicle per quarter and I believe this is achievable with God on my side” he said.
According to him, the beneficiaries were not picked by luck, the individuals contributed immensely to the success made during the last general elections so, it’s a way of thanking them but they must see it as an empowerment.
He noted that in the last 10 months of being in office he has done a lot of projects which include grading of over 50 roads, giving out soft loans to different associations, distribution of over 20 wheelchairs to the physically challenged, distribution of study materials to students, donation of school furniture to schools, sponsoring of over a hundred constituents on vocational training among others.
The beneficiaries; Mr. Okukoya, Mr. Adebiyi and Mr. Ayinde were full of appreciation to Hon. Ojuri for the empowerment and promised to maximize the opportunity given them.
