The death of one of the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Student (Azeez Adeyinka Oladipupo Odunta,Business administration ND2) led to a heavy protest by the student body of the citadel of higher learning which resulted into damages of louvers at the office of the power holding sector in Ijebu Igbo and as a result of this the PHCN disconnected Ijebu Igbo power source completely.
The Council Chairman frowned at this position of the power commission. Speaking at a meeting to strengthen the security at Akanra area the location of the polytechnic and Atikori environs at the palace of Kegbo of Atikori in the presence of the Oba, HRM Oba Ibitoye Solaja, the Council boss noted that it is an insult on the good people of Ijebu Igbo what the PHCN district head had done.
“We don’t deserve this, how could they shut down totally because of louvers damages, they even add insult to injury by relocating the district headquarter to Ago Iwoye. Do they want to start community clash? We are still managing the seldom supply which isn’t delightful at all yet they had such effrontery”, Ekelojumati alluded.
Amebo reliably gathered that a meeting has been fixed for tomorrow between the PHCN district head in Ijebu North Mr Taiwo, Mr Tope Bello regional head at Abeokuta and Engr Famakinde Ijebu Ode PHCN business manager. Also to be at the meeting schedule for 3pm are the commissioner of health Ogun State Dr Babatunde Ipaye, DPO of Ijebu Igbo, the civil defence, the Kegbo.of Atikori, Oba Ibitoye Solaja, OC DSS Ijebu Igbo, Oba Sopen Lukale, Oba Haruna Abass Beje Roku of Oke Agbo,the polytechnic Rector Prof Jumoke Bilesanmi, Sen Biyi Durojaiye, Prof Ayo Ogunye, Barr Bola Kalejaiye, Alh Akeula Mustapha and other notable community leaders.
At the security meeting strategies were formulated in controlling the high rate of crime within the area and Ijebu Igbo as a whole. The meeting had in attendance the DPO of Ijebu Igbo, the Director of SSS, Chiefs and Vigilante members.
